One Year Pictures

I took the sweeties' one year pictures yesterday in the living room.
I originally thought I was going to photograph them in their crib but I started with Quinn and
he wasn't loving the idea of standing still too much...
the model photo in my mind, of them looking dreamily at me over the crib railing was about
as far from this goofball's mind as sitting down and reading a book was from mine.
He kept running around in circles and flopping down on the mattress laughing.
Fun, yes, but not exactly portrait material.
At least he wasn't crying, I thought, as I ditched the crib concept & switched over to
Ruby who crawled up on Cliff's drum in the living room, as she often does.
I slowly pulled the drum away from the couch so that she couldn't get away.
Eureka! She was stranded on her perch and I started shooting on rapid fire
re-adjusting my white balance, ISO and exposure, as I went, due to the location change.
I snapped some great pictures of Ruby and then put Quinn on the drum for the first time ever.
He was a little wobbly at first but once I posed his feet he didn't move a muscle.
I think he was a little scared!
I could easily make Quinn smile but by the time I got behind the camera again I had lost it.
Thankfully, cousin Jessica came by after school to visit before she had to go to piano lessons
and she was easily able to get both of the babies to smile for her as she stood over my camera.
We got some pics with cousin before we called it a wrap!

What fun pictures! The babies are adorable and Jessica is just beautiful. Of course, I'm pretty biased toward all three of them. Love you! Virginia

What a fun and interesting 1 year old photo shoot. Something tells me the 2 year old one will be twice the adventure. Precious photos.

So sweet! Wonderful pics, and the story adds so much! So funny are all the details. I liked picturing Q running around his crib. I thought it was a photo-worthy scene but maybe not Portrait worthy. Maybe you can get that precious crib scene if you have five people helping you. Might be worth it. heehee. It sounded like a cute idea. Your portraits turned out sooooo cute! The Lord made good of it all. Yay, Jessica. She looks so cute too. :)

Cuties! love you all. Plus, so fun to see Jessica. Last time I saw her I snapped one of my favorite pictures of a little baby girl, sitting on her knees on a chair. Now look at this beautiful girl!
