Home From Camp

Our niece came home from her middle school camp today and I had the
distinct honor of getting to be the one to pick her up (the twins were along for the ride as well!)
It was SUCH a blessing to hear her stories on the drive home.
She told about the mixers, scavenger hunt, devotions, cabin time, an ocean cruise to another island called "Strawberry Island" (how fun is that?!) where they had an all day beach party,
snacks, late nights, games, entertainment and she told about ways that she grew in Christ.
I was touched by her sincerity as she said, "I just spent a lot of time thinking about what a personal God we have. How Jesus was thinking about each one of us when he was giving His life on the cross. He was thinking about ME... And Quinn! And Ruby!"
She also compared herself to people in the Bible and told why she was or wasn't like them, which was an activity they did in their evening cabin times.  So sweet.
I shared in her joy when she said that a boy from her class came to know the Lord this weekend.
So thankful for her opportunity to go to camp and my opportunity to be the *first* to hear the details!
This little niecey went to WyldLife camp!
Her big brother was a leader at the camp and reportedly
ate a "Happy Meal Shake" during the entertainment - yow!
Her big sister went as a work crew member and as the name implies,
did a lot of work, no doubt, joyfully.

What a blessing it is for Joanna to have you to share in her life and to listen to her. It makes me sad to think of the young ones who don't have a caring adult in their lives. I'm glad that you're there for her, Betty. Our grandchildren are blessed to have so many family members who really listen to them, who cry with them, and who rejoice with them. Thanks for sharing this special time with JoJo.
Love you,
Virginia

She looks so beautiful and grown up!

So did the other two stay at camp? Why didn't they get picked up too? Kelly

Hi, Miss G!
Yes, big brother and big sister stayed at camp too, but they stayed for sometime afterward to help clean and close up shop, then JC drove he and Joy home himself. Jojo went through the regular check-out and pick up routine that the other campers went through.

I just now saw this! :) She looks so beautiful. What a blessing that you get to live near them and see them in their daily lives. And what a special time when you pick up one of the kids after a wonderful trip like that--you get to hear all of the details! Sometimes if I wait to hear the details, I don't get to hear them all--the excitement is worn off or the details just aren't thought of anymore. What a special time! Love you!
