We Are the World 25

Raise your hand if you remember the original "We Are the World" video!
I have vivid memories of singing along with
Michael Jackson, Cindy Lauper and Tina Turner back in my big bangs days.
A new version of the same song recently debuted on the 25th anniversary of the first, with many of the current top artists taking part
to raise money for Haiti Relief.
It is fully awesome!
Check out the video below.
Leave a comment and tell us what you think of the video,
the auto-tones in the new song, or memories you have of the old song.

And here's a YouTube link to the original song and video for those in need of a blast from the past.

Just kidding. I'll check it out later, but it seems like the old one will be tough to beat. It IS fun to see how many voices I can recognize. Wonder if I will know ANY of them? Is TobyMac or Mac Powell in it? Jeremy Camp? Switchfoot or DownHere? Any old 80s stars? John Mellancamp? Rod Stewart? :D

Marc and I had a "dance" routine that we would perform to the song for family and friends. Oh my, we were dorks.

It was fun to listen to and brought back a lot of memories! In my book, it is hard to beat the original. I thought it was neat that they put the Michael Jackson footage in the new version. There sure were a lot of people I wasn't familiar with. I'm not sure about the auto tones. I think it is great that they brought the concept back to support Haitian recovery efforts.

LOVED it. I especially loved seeing the "old" singers and the "young" singers working together for a common cause.

Jealous that K, A and D are going to get to come and see you soon and hug on those sweet babies.

Pray you are all doing well.
