DIY | Chicken Wire Display Frame

We have had fun working together to decorate the twins' nursery.  It is so cozy and cute!
I love spending a good percentage of my days in the nursery with the babies.
Cliff did all of the hard work painting cleaning, putting up bead board, trimming out the window and replacing all the baseboard and door trim as well.
I've had the fun job of selecting and making things to put up on the walls.
Below are some pictures I took while I was making a Chicken Wire Display Frame.
Mine works like a bulletin board, but instead of tacks, I use mini-clothes pins.
I am looking forward to hanging this up in the nursery soon.

My friend Karen gave me this nice big wooden frame.
I sanded it until I got tired of sanding and then painted it with bright yellow craft paint
and sprayed on a few coats of clear matte finish spray paint.
I used a sharpie to mark off the size I wanted to cut the chicken wire and used
wire cutters to trim the wire to the right size.
The next step was to hot-glue the chicken wire to the back of the frame.
I used my gardening gloves for the gluing to protect my fingers.
If I do this craft again I'm going to try a staple gun instead of hot glue.

I finished it off with some of the babies' amazing newborn photos taken by Emily Weaver Brown
as well as a paper "twins" bunting that my SIL, Jennifer made for our baby shower
and a few other little goodies. The white flower is made of metal and was used as a gift tag
by my friend, Karin, on the baby gift she gave Ruby Baby.
The turquoise ribbon was also from a baby gift!

How very cute! You and Cliff are so creative. I can't wait to see the nursery (but more importantly, you, Cliff, and those babies) when we come to Sitka.

You did such a great job and I think of you whenever I see wooden frames at garage sales. This makes me miss those babies and sitting in the nursery with you guys! If only I could just jet over for an afternoon! Kelly
