July tenth 2012 was commemorated by hiking the Thimbleberry Lake/ Heart Lake Trail south of town. Our Colorado Springs visitors, Kelly, Adrian and their two year old, David (pictured with the blue hat) made the trek along with us, as did our dear friends from Sitka, Karin and Megan. Karin, Kelly and I were all shooting pictures for our Ten On Ten blog posts so we had fun chatting about it as we walked along. I look forward to seeing what they post from the day! Hopefully Kelly will mention what a great hiker David is turning out to be -- he walked most of the trail on his own little two year old legs and even managed to put a foot in a stream once to feel the cold water! He was a trooper!
Our new double Bob stroller that was a gift from my colleagues at KGH Elementary performed very well on the trip! Its a pretty sweet ride for the babes! They alternated between snoozing and watching the scenery. Everyone took a turn pushing the stroller up one hill or another, but Cliff did the majority of the mule work. After the hike, Kelly & Adrian teamed up to make homemade cucumber limeade, Hawaiian Bread sandwiches and for dessert... get this... strawberry balsamic cracked pepper ice cream! what?! There are some pretty creative minds out there and I admit that although this particular concoction sounded sketchy I gave it a hearty thumbs up in the end! Rosie earned a bath after the hike and then sat on the living room floor looking like a sweet fawn! The babies were exhausted at the end of the day and both of them passed out on Daddy's lap while we watched the Baseball All-Star game at Jack and Jennifer's house. Three cheers to another great "tenth!" I can't believe the babies have already had four!

Tech Note: All of my photos for this Ten on Ten were taken with the Instagram app on
my iPhone and then collaged with another app called Pic Collage. I posted the collage to
my blog from my phone using the Blogger app & then typed out my blog text on our Macbook Air before publishing it for our dear friends and family to see. All with the click of a few buttons.
Its a pretty high-tech world we are raising these babies in! For today, I'm thankful for technology.

love seeing the Rollett's in your photos -- looking forward to seeing what Kelly comes up with for her post!
Very fun! Have you checked out the snapseed app? I'm thinking about getting it.
BTW, that was me. Over and out.

Sweet coupla babes and love birds! Love it!
Betty I love the way you described the day. It sounds like such an neat day and I love your description of it. The balsamic vinegar ice cream peppercorn whatever stuff sounded so funny and gross. I thought it was funny that you gave it a thumbs down but neat that you were willing to try it anyway. I think I would too especially with you. As always wonderful pictures Betty! Thanks for posting them.
Posting from my phone wont let me just put "Rhoda" for some reason. So I'm " anonymous". Love, Rhoda
Figured it out. 🌵:)
Love all the photos and thank you for the technology tips. Can't wait to try some of them. K, A, and D had a wonderful time with you guys.
